699. Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will devise provisions for recipients of social welfare who cannot afford to purchase "a vehicle that has been specially constructed or adapted for use by a disabled person" under the disabled drivers and passengers scheme, yet may equally deserve such provisions in view of their circumstances. The scheme referred to is a Revenue matter, relating to relief on VAT and VRT.  My Department does not have any involvement in this scheme, nor does my Department have funding available for such assistance as the Deputy is suggesting.
