172. Deputy Stephen S. Donnelly asked the Minister for Finance his views on the appropriateness of the recent appointment by the National Asset Management Agency of Pricewaterhouse Coopers to provide an internal audit service to the agency, in view of the ongoing litigation by the receivers of Quinn Insurance who are claiming approximately €1 billion in damages from PwC in respect of alleged audit failings by PwC at Quinn Insurance. I am advised that NAMA, in selecting a service provider to provide internal audit services, undertook an open competitive tender process.  The selection of the winning bid was a matter for the  NAMA Board.
