554. Deputy Michael P. Kitt asked the Minister for Health if the post of any person in the Health Service Executive who is successful in competing for the national nursing posts will be back-filled at a time of severe pressure on existing nursing services; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As this is an operational matter, I have referred the question to the HSE for direct reply, however the Deputy should note that the HSE has the capacity to recruit where it is necessary to do so in order to ensure patient safety and to support service delivery.
