Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Health his views on whether it is appropriate that a child with Pfeiffer syndrome should not have access to a specialised team of care givers under the home care package which can fully respond to the needs of the child; if the provision of agency staffing to provide care in these instances can lead to gaps in care provision due to a lack of continuity; if it would be economically more feasible to employ a dedicated team as opposed to agency staff; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
