289. Deputy Jonathan O'Brien asked the Minister for Education and Skills the net and gross annual saving to the Exchequer if the pay scales of chief executives of education and training boards were capped at €100,000. [29791/14]
View answerThere are three categories of ETBs for the purposes of pay scales for Chief Executives. Based on the mid point of these scales, the Department estimates that the gross annual saving to the Exchequer, if the pay for the Chief Executives were capped at €100,000, is of the order of €144,000. As Chief Executives are employees of and paid by the ETBs, information relating to the net saving is not available.
