475. Deputy Niall Collins asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources if his Department or agencies under its auspices has engaged the services of a debt collection agency in pursuing money owed to his Department or its agencies; if his Department have guidelines regarding hiring such agencies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has not engaged the services of any debt collection agencies and there are no guidelines in place for hiring such agencies. The information sought regarding the Agencies under the aegis of my Department is an operational matter for each agency. I will request the relevant bodies to reply directly to the Deputy with the information requested in respect of their organisation.
