View answerFour Statutory Instruments have been signed since 1 May 2014. Three of these Statutory Instruments have been made under regulatory powers contained in the Pensions Act 1990 dealing with the regulation of occupational pension schemes. The other Statutory Instrument commences sections 13 and 14 of the Social Welfare and Pensions Act 2013, with effect from 1 August 2014. Section 13 of the Social Welfare and Pensions Act 2013 provides for the recovery of the value of certain illness-related social welfare payments from compensation awards made to persons as a consequence of personal injuries claims. Section 14 of that Act makes consequential amendments to the Personal Injuries Assessment Board Act 2003 in the light of the recovery provisions contained in section 13.
