186. Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Health the total State spend on suicide prevention and awareness projects, including funding for the National Office of Suicide Prevention, for the years 2011, 2012, 2013 and to date in 2014; if he will provide a breakdown of same by year and by scheme and-or project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Funding for suicide prevention is provided to the National Office for Suicide Prevention (NOSP) by the HSE from its overall budget for mental health. Funding provided in the years 2011 to 2014 is set out in the following table.

Responsibility for the allocation of this funding rests with the NOSP. I have therefore, referred the question regarding the breakdown of the spend by scheme/project to that Office for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
