1778. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the total number of new appointments made in her Department and those bodies under her remit since March 2011 to date in 2014, with a breakdown of the grade to which they were appointed during the period. View answerAs the Deputy will be aware, my Department is subject to the moratorium on public sector recruitment. Since its establishment in June 2011, a total of 4 new appointments have been made by my Department (1 Principal Officer, 1 Assistant Principal Officer, 1 Service Officer and 1 General Operative). This figure does not include seasonal or Ministerial appointments.
As summarised in Table 1 below, 23 appointments have been made in bodies funded from my Department's Vote Group during this period. A further 21 appointments have been made to North South Bodies, summarised in Table 2 below. As the Deputy will be aware, North South bodies are not subject to the Employment Control Framework. These figures do not include seasonal appointments.
