374. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the total number of new appointments made in his Department since March 2011 to date in 2014, with a breakdown of the number of staff appointed and the grade to which they were appointed during the period. In response to the Deputy's question the following tables outline the total number of new appointments with a breakdown of grade, made in my Department, and those under my aegis, from July 2011 to date in 2014 as the Deputy will be aware that my Department was only formally established on 6 July 2011.  

I would also like clarify that as part of the roll-out of our essential reform agenda, my Department numbers now include staff in the Office of Government Procurement and the National Shared Services Office which includes PeoplePoint, Payroll Shared Services Offices and Financial Management Shared Service.
