The Rural Development Programme for the 2014-2020 period was submitted to the EU Commission for approval in July 2014. In the case of the pig sector, it is proposed to provide funding in the initial stages of TAMS II for investments in relation to energy, water meters and medicine dispensers. TAMS II will subsequently be expanded to provide grant-aid for investments in relation to farm nutrient storage and animal housing. It is not possible at this stage to identify the range of investment items which will be included in these schemes, or the specific sectors concerned.
