722. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if he will provide an update on the number of children availing of the after school child care initiative with a breakdown on a county basis, including the number of children availing of the initiative in Dublin 3, 5, 13 and 17. The After-School Child Care (ASCC) programme was introduced in October 2013 specifically to provide after-school care for primary school children for certain categories of working parents for a once-off period of 52 weeks.

A table giving the uptake figures for each City/County Childcare Committee region is below. Figures are not available separately for Dublin postal district areas.
