Questions (805)

Derek Keating

Question:

805. Deputy Derek Keating asked the Minister for Health the number of trained phlebotomists in Ireland today; the budget that has been assigned to train further phlebotomists; when will this take effect; his views that the practice of drawing blood samples from patients for analysis for medical purposes using needles by those who are untrained is unsatisfactory; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
