Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Health if he will provide in tabular form the annual cost of the drug payment scheme in each year since 2011; the annual number of beneficiaries of the scheme; the number of individual monthly claims in each year to date in 2014; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the Health Service Executive (HSE) has statutory responsibility for the administration of the primary care schemes, therefore the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
