240. Deputy Ruth Coppinger asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if his attention has been drawn to allegations of alteration of tuberculosis test certificates by a veterinary inspector (details supplied); and his views on such practices being widespread. [35469/14]
View answerThe allegation concerned has been fully investigated and was found to be without foundation as the Department officer referred to had followed the relevant procedures correctly. The assertion that an animal should have been destroyed is not sustained by the facts of the case since the animal concerned had already been slaughtered some 6 months before the retrospective correction of the record in regard to the sex of the animal took place.
