Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Taoiseach to set out the increase in the number of persons aged 15 and over here from outside the EU, based on the national quarterly household survey between quarter 2 of 2013 and quarter 2 of 2014; the reason for this increase; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The exact information requested by the Deputy is not available. The Quarterly National Household Survey (QNHS) is the official source of labour force estimates in the State and the data also provides information on persons classified by nationality. The CSO does not collect information in QNHS on the reason for immigration of persons.

The Q2 2014 estimates are the most recent QNHS figures available.

The following table shows the estimated number of persons aged 15 years and over classified by nationality in Quarter 2 2013 and 2014 and the year on year change.
