444. Deputy Terence Flanagan asked the Minister for Health his plans to introduce a tax on sugar sweetened drinks; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [37107/14]

The Department of Health's Special Action Group on Obesity (SAGO) is considering a range of measures to tackle obesity, including calorie-posting on menus and Healthy Eating Guidelines. A proposal to introduce a tax on sugar-sweetened drinks remains under consideration.
