While building regulations do not require the provision of public toilet facilities in DSP public offices, the Department endeavours, where possible, to provide a fully accessible toilet facility for customer use.

However, in some locations where a toilet was not provided at the time of original building construction, it is often not feasible to retrofit such a facility. This may be due to either lack of space or the significant additional cost to provide waste and water services to a suitable location in the building. In relation to the Finglas office specifically, there is insufficient space to provide a toilet for customer use.

However, I am advised that staff generally make the staff toilets available to members of the public who request the use of toilet facilities, particularly the elderly or people attending with small children.
