238. Deputy Dan Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine his views on correspondence (details supplied) regarding farming chickens and a possible outbreak of salmonella; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [37925/14]

My Department does not have any restrictions in place on the placing or growing of chickens on this farm. Any such decisions in this regard are a commercial matter between the company and the farmer. I have asked my officials to make contact with the farmer concerned to ensure that he has a clear understanding of the issues.
