110. Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the steps he will take to prevent jellyfish attacking fish farms; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [39701/14]

My Department is not aware of any recent damage to farmed fish stock arising from high densities of jellyfish. My Department has requested the Marine Institute to forward a short report on possible mitigation measures, if any, which might be appropriate in the event of such incidents occurring on a sustained basis.
