699. Deputy Billy Kelleher asked the Minister for Health his plans to issue iodine tablets to households; if so, when; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [41543/14]

My Department has no plans to issue iodine tablets.

Matters concerning radiological events are a matter for the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland (RPII) which comes under the aegis of the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government.
