Deputy Eoghan Murphy asked the Minister for Education and Skills her plans to extend the curriculum in secondary schools to financial education and financial risk management in order to equip young people to take advantage of the greater freedoms they will have to manage their own pension funds in the future, arising from changes to pension fund legislation and trends in the pension industry that have taken place over the past 15 years, and the need arising therefrom for citizens to have a better understanding of financial planning and an appreciation of the importance of and the techniques involved in financial risk management.
