595. Deputy Sandra McLellan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if she will ensure that every school under the Government's remit is provided with a proclamation on the run up to the 1916 centenary. [44998/14]
View answerMy Department will be working with the Department of Education and Skills to develop an education programme as part of the 2016 commemoration programme. Following the recent launch of Ireland 2016, a national initiative which includes a programme of events to mark the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising, a period of consultation has now begun. In that context, suggestions and ideas from members of the public and interested groups as to activities and initiatives that might be pursued as part of the 1916 commemorations will be welcome. All such suggestions, as well as the proposal set out in the Deputy's Question, will be reviewed and evaluated in early 2015.
