551. Deputy Dominic Hannigan asked the Minister for Education and Skills the number of participants under 25 years of age who commenced a Youthreach and-or community training centre training course in 2013; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [47731/14]

Youthreach and CTCs cater for learners aged 15 to 25. Statistical returns forwarded by ETBs to my Department show that 1,854 participants commenced a Youthreach programme in 2013. SOLAS reports that 1,480 participants commenced a Community Training Centre course in 2013.
