1020. Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the actions undertaken by his Department to date to meet the requirements of the European Union’s fourth railway package; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1613/15]
View answerThe Fourth Railway package comprises six proposals for legislation which were adopted by the European Commission in January, 2013. The proposals are subject to agreement by the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers through the co-decision procedure before they can become law. As such the issue of compliance with the requirements of the Fourth Package does not arise for the present.
