Deputy Jerry Buttimer asked the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation the amount spent by his Department on ministerial drivers and associated travel expenses for each of the past four years; the way this compares with similar expenditure for the four years from 2007 to 2010; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Details of the Ministerial drivers costs as requested by the Deputy since 2011 are as set out below in tabular format.

As the costs of the salaries and allowances of Garda drivers under the scheme previously in place were paid by the Department of Justice my Department does not have those details and I, therefore, cannot provide a comparison of the cost of the two schemes. I will ask my colleague, the Minister for Justice and Equality, to revert to you with a response.
