The claim for mortgage interest supplement in respect of the person concerned was reviewed on 13 March 2013. At that time, the minimum contribution for couples towards Mortgage Interest Supplement was €35 per week and as the interest content of the mortgage repayment was €35.17 per week, the potential entitlement was calculated on the difference. As this figure fell below the minimum payment of €1.00 per month, the claim was disallowed. No appeal of this decision was received from the person concerned and the claim was subsequently closed.
