55. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection if an exceptional needs payment under the supplementary allowance scheme will be made in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare, in respect of that person's electricity arrears; and if she will make a statement on the matter. According to the records of this Department a recent application for an exceptional needs payment has not been submitted by the person concerned. It is open to her to submit an application to her local Community Welfare Service.
