420. Deputy Tom Fleming asked the Minister for Justice and Equality her plans to amend the maintenance of children court led services in order that there is an automatic deduction at source from wages while freeing up court hearings; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11825/15]
View answerUnder the law as it stands, maintenance may be deducted from wages under an "attachment of earnings order". The court may make such an order at the same time as making a maintenance order. These orders are usually made where the court considers that there is otherwise a risk that the maintenance will not be paid.
