Questions (969)

Sandra McLellan

Question:

969. Deputy Sandra McLellan asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his views that it is acceptable that a person (details supplied) in County Cork did not receive a renewed provisional licence in a timely manner from the National Driver Licence Service, which meant the person could not sit a driving test; if a new test date will be provided without any additional fee; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The operation of the National Driver Licensing Service, and the operation of the driver testing service, are statutory responsibilities of the Road Safety Authority. I have therefore referred the question to the Authority for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
