Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett asked the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation the progress of talks between the European Union and the United States of America on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership; the meetings he has attended; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerSince the formal negotiations between the European Union and the United States on a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) began in July 2013, eight negotiating rounds have taken place. The 9th round is scheduled to take place in Washington from 20th-24th April 2015.

In accordance with Article 207 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, the EU Commission negotiates on behalf of the EU and regularly reports to the Council of Ministers which I attend.
