Deputy Jonathan O'Brien asked the Minister for Education and Skills whether there are best practice guidelines on the number of senior administration positions that should exist in third level institutions in proportion to numbers of staff and students; and if she will provide details of these guidelines. Higher education institutions are autonomous bodies and make appointments based on the needs of their institution and available funding subject to relevant legislative provisions.
