169. Deputy Fergus O'Dowd asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government his plans for improved library facilities in the Louth-East Meath constituency; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15999/15]

Under Section 78 of the Local Government Act 2001, the provision of premises and facilities for the public library service is a reserved function of each local authority in its capacity as a library authority.
