623. Deputy Michael McCarthy asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport when a driving licence will be processed in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Cork; the normal processing times for same; and if the matter will be expedited, in view of the fact that the person requires same to avail of a job opportunity. The operation of the National Driver Licensing Service is the statutory responsibility of the Road Safety Authority.  I have therefore referred the question to the Authority for direct reply.  I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
