Questions (1005)

Gerry Adams

Question:

1005. Deputy Gerry Adams asked the Minister for Education and Skills her plans to allow for alternative methods of payment to the State Examinations Commission as persons in many rural areas have no access to banks and often have to make a considerable journey to make a payment ; the reason that no online or post office payment systems are currently available; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The State Examinations Commission has statutory responsibility for operational matters relating to the certificate examinations. In view of this I have forwarded the Deputy's query to the State Examinations Commission for direct reply to the Deputy.
