Deputy Michael Moynihan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection the total amount paid to the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources in respect of compensation for free television licences issued by her Department in each of the years 2011 to 2014 and in 2015 to date; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The total amounts paid to the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources in respect of Free Television Licences for the period 2011 to 31 May 2015 are set out in the table below.

The Department pays for Free Television licences for people who qualify for the Household Benefits Package.
