View answerAs the Deputy will appreciate, the methods employed by An Garda Síochána in the detection or prevention of any offence are an operational matter for the Garda authorities. I am informed that there is no requirement to have identification markings on Garda Safety Camera Vans. An Garda Síochána has both ‘marked’ and ‘unmarked’ Garda Safety Camera Vans in operation. I am further informed that the outsourced Safety Camera Network vans are marked with high visibility reflective material which displays a safety camera symbol. Images of these vans are available on the Garda website.
