586. Deputy Paul Murphy asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government in view of expert opinion reported in the press (details supplied) that points to shortcomings of breed specific legislation concerning the control of dogs, as well as potential legal difficulties in identifying dog breeds, if he will consider a review of legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
