168. Deputy John McGuinness asked the Minister for Health the number of trained paramedics in the ambulance service who are out of work or on protective leave in each of the Health Service Executive regions; the number of negotiated settlements in respect of the same categories of employees in the ambulance service; the costs relative to each settlement; the amount of lump sums and-or pensions granted as part of the settlements; the cost to the executive of training a paramedic; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
