Deputy Seán Kyne asked the Minister for Education and Skills with regard to the distribution of posts in a school (details enclosed) in County Galway which is unique in a number of areas, if a permanent non-teaching principal position will be offered; and if she will make a statement on the matter. View answerWith effect from the 2012/2013 school year, the criteria for the appointment of Administrative Principal and Administrative Deputy Principal posts are based on pupil numbers. Enrolment thresholds for the 2015/2016 school year are set out in Appendix B of Circular 0005/2015, which is available on the Department's website.
As the school referred to by the Deputy does not meet the published criteria, it does not qualify for an Administrative Principal post.
