Deputy Maureen O'Sullivan asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if he will clarify when approval was first sought earlier this year for the appointment of a cycling officer by Dublin City Council and when he will make a decision on this request; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department received a staff sanction request from Dublin City Council for a Cycling Officer, on a three-year contract, on 26 May 2015 and following consideration of the request, the post was approved on 10 July 2015.
