256. Deputy Gabrielle McFadden asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade if there is a need to have a payment details section on an Irish passport application form, when the payment for a passport is made at a local post office; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29472/15]

Currently there is only one passport application form for use within the state – APS1. While over 90% of all passport applications in the State are made through the Passport Express service there are still a significant number of citizens who use other means of applying. For these applications the payment section on the form is still required.
