Deputy Barry Cowen asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if his Department has figures on the number of long-term vacant housing units owned by each local authority and the average turnaround time for vacant local authority dwellings; and if he will provide the latest figures held by his Department. Statistics on local authority housing stock are published by the Local Government Management Agency, including numbers of vacant social housing units and the average number of weeks for each local authority to re-let a unit from the date of vacation of the unit to the completion of repairs. The most recent statistics are the Service Indicators in Local Authorities 2013 which are available at the following weblink: www.lgma.ie/en/service-indicators-local-authorities-2013.
