Deputy Seán Ó Fearghaíl asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection if she will provide funding for a gratuity or lump sum payment to community employment supervisors and assistant supervisors who retire on age or other grounds in advance of the possible introduction of a pension scheme for such workers; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Social Protection has indicated that it is not in a position to provide funding for a gratuity or lump sum payment to Community Employment Supervisors on their retirement. This has been advised and has been detailed in numerous responses to Parliamentary Questions on this topic.
