Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he will provide an update on the designation of Renard Pier (details supplied) in County Kerry which would help stimulate employment and trade in the area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine

The SFPA has, in recent days, outlined its advice in relation to the request to designate Renard Pier for landings of Hake and Monkfish. I will give my full consideration to all relevant issues including this advice. When I have come to a determination I will inform the Deputy.
