This Government has provided additional ring-fenced funding of €125 million to modernise the full range of mental health services, in line with our Programme for Government commitments and implementing the widely accepted recommendations of "A Vision for Change". This process involves greater emphasis on community based care, including the provision of Day Care services for improved multi-disciplinary mental health care overall. The agreed priorities for mental health are reflected in the HSE Service Plan 2015, which is underpinned by funding of around €790 million for this programme this year.

As the Deputy's question relates to the statutory responsibility of the HSE to plan or provide specific services at regional or local level, I have referred the question to the Executive for direct reply. If you have not received a reply within 15 working days, please contact my Private Office and they will follow up the matter with them.
