Deputy Seán Kyne asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider temporarily reducing or removing tax liabilities concerning the construction of new homes, as a measure to stimulate increased construction, but also in a manner which would assist first-time buyers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerThis issue has been brought to my attention on a number of occasions and indeed I have met with representatives of the Construction Industry Federation recently. However the Deputy will be aware that it is not the practice of the Minister for Finance to discuss in advance any measures which may be under consideration as part of the Budget and Finance Bill process.
