481. Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Health his views on the recognition of the month of September as childhood cancer awareness month; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [36385/15]

I am aware that September was Childhood Cancer Awareness month. This is part of an international campaign to raise awareness of the many issues affecting children with cancer. Cancer prevention is a key part of our efforts in cancer control and I welcome initiatives that help to create awareness of cancer and that support patients who are dealing with cancer.
