Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the number of requests made by the US in 2015 to date under the Air Navigation and Transport Act (Carriage of Munitions of War, Weapons and Dangerous Goods) Order 1973, for permits to transport munitions destined for Saudi Arabia through Shannon Airport. To date in 2015 no requests have been made to my Department by airlines from the United States for permits to transport munitions through Shannon Airport for flights destined for Saudi Arabia under the Air Navigation and Transport Act (Carriage of Munitions of War, Weapons and Dangerous Goods) Order 1973.
