All persons, including foreign nationals, who propose to marry in the State, are subject to the provisions of Part 6 of the Civil Registration Acts 2004 to 2014.

Persons seeking a meeting with a registrar for the purposes of giving notification of intention to marry are advised to contact their local registrar. Details of the location and opening times of registrars' offices can be found at www.civilregistrationservice.ie. Details of documentation required can also be found on this website.

Foreign nationals who are unsure as to their immigration status should contact the Garda National Immigration Bureau at 13/14 Burgh Quay, Dublin 2, D02 XK70 (Telephone 01 6669100/1).
